Mangrove Action Project strives to raise awareness about the deforestation of mangrove forests around the world and the dangerous consequences of this alarming loss. When mangroves are lost to development, wild fisheries decline, shorelines erode, coral reef and seagrass beds are degraded, worsening climate change due to massive releases of stored carbon occur, as well as a dangerous increase in the phenomena of ocean acidification.
