The Short Game Place®
www.theshortgameplace.comIt starts in fall; the weather turns cold and rainy. I reached a place where I play golf well enough to benefit a foursome in a tournament, but the weather changes, golfing becomes sporadic, I reach the point where I have to wait until spring and pray it comes early. When it finally does, my skills start back where I was this time last year, instead of how well I ended the season. Golf requires muscle memory and practice to keep up your skill level, and simulators just don’t cut it. Time of day was also a factor, the availability to get in more than seven holes at twilight, or even get to the course before it closed due to darkness in the shorter days of winter, wrecks any full-time worker’s spirits. In 1992, after frustrating weather all year long, flooded courses, I became ultra-frustrated. It was at that point I realized I was not the only one affected by this problem…and I needed to solve it. Solution: Shortening the playing field (100 yards or less) and putting it indoors allows skilled and unskilled, persons with and without disabilities of any age to learn, play, and hone their golf game in their available time. The healthy and fun attributes of golf are now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This first-of-it's-kind, indoor 9 or 18-hole short game course will welcome all golf lovers, including person's with disabilities because of our Universal Design arena.
