The Vector Monkeys is a freelance design studio located in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. Founded by Joris Hoogendoorn in 2005, The Vector Monkeys’ fields of expertise is to use graphic design and illustration to make powerful interfaces for the web, mobile apps, presentations and interactive experiences. The Vector Monkeys hold more then a decade of experience in graphic design within the fields of print, fashion, websites, mobile apps, and presentations. The Vector Monkeys was the first step in Joris' career after finishing SintLucas; School for Entrepreneurs in the Creative Industies. During his education, he learned to use playful interactive design, such as when he was a trainee at Fluid by Digital Pioneer; Remon Tijssen. After finishing SintLucas, Joris teamed up with Jurgen van Zachten of Locografix where they made cool illustration, graphic- and web design projects for clients like: ID&T, Copa Classic, TNO Holst Center, and Wegener Media. From 2008 until mid-2013, Joris worked as a Senior Designer and Art Director at idreams Interactive, designing websites and apps for clients like: Schwarzkopf, Herman Miller, LOI, Politie, Mora, Hero, Praxis, and ANWB. Mid-2013, Joris decided to wake up The Vector Monkeys, returning to his entrepreneurial roots as a freelance designer. The Vector Monkeys proudly work within a strong network of designers, developers, motion designers, and all types of professional, creative people.
