Droit Autrement / Legal Alternative (DALA) is a student-run group at the McGill Faculty of Law that seeks to empower law students and professionals through a conversation about the potential of a legal education. Beyond the conventional image of a ‘lawyer’, we seek to explore the career possibilities that have come under the designation of ‘alternative legal careers’. What does it mean to practice law today? DALA is a platform to bring those stories to students. Through our Lawfully Uncommon interviews and community-geared events, we hope to bring these inspiring stories to a broader audience and use them to create resources that students can use to shape their own career trajectories.
