From the beginning, the University of Iowa School of Journalism & Mass Communication has been a place where students overcome obstacles and challenge the status quo. We have and always will lead the way in traditional journalism while still educating master storytellers ready to face the ever-evolving digital world. We are prepared to be disruptors in that world. At Iowa we stand on the shoulders of the great journalists that have studied and taught here. Our alumni have won Pulitzer Prizes, Peabody Awards, Emmys and Oscars, standing as beacons of inspiration for students. Our hands-on workshops with renowned faculty and the latest technology give us the experience and the tools to rise to new levels of our craft. As fast as the world is changing our collective experience, we must stay one step ahead in order to inform, engage, report, shape and educate.
