Brown and Lombard is an independent tax and accounting firm in Dublin. We have a particular focus on the needs of privately owned businesses, individuals, professional service companies, employers and practitioners such as accountants and solicitors. Our practice was founded in 2012 by Cormac Brown, an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) and a Certified Accountant (ACCA). Cormac is a tax professional with over twenty five years experience, much of which was spent in the taxation practices of Big 4 Accounting firms as well as with a top tier law firm. His experience covers most areas of taxation, with an emphasis on direct and transactional taxes, and he has extensive experience in advising family and privately owned businesses on tax matters. He also advised private and public companies on the establishment of employee share schemes and was a Council Member of the Irish Proshare Association between 2007 and 2017. He was appointed a Notary Public by the Chief Justice of Ireland in July 2011 and has a separate practice as a Notary Public. He was a member of the Tax Committee of the Law Society of Ireland for six years and was a member of TALC Direct Taxes for five years. Following the 2011 Budget he was chairman of the TALC sub-group set up to deal with issues arising from the extension of PAYE to share awards. He holds a business degree from Trinity College Dublin and a Masters of Business Studies degree from University College Dublin.
