XR Catalysers began in August 2019 as a specialist working group within Extinction Rebellion (XR) in the UK. Our mandate is to engage in respectful and in-confidence dialogue with people in places of significant power and influence, to discuss the Climate and Ecological Emergency (CEE) and help accelerate the changes needed to address it. Our aim is to stick hearts back to minds, not glue ourselves to roads or buildings. We aim to cause internal disruption whilst our rebel friends and colleagues are causing external disruption through civil disobedience and non-violent direct action. Marrying inner beliefs to outer actions is our objective when running conversations and sharing circles with people in places of power and influence. Is your work in society aligned with who you truly are? Internal and external actions combined bring the change needed in individuals and the groups, communities and organisations they belong to. We know it works from the empirical evidence collected over the last 2,5 years. Acknowledging the power of leaders & influencers, we in turn encourage them to recognise their role and responsibilities in this world. It takes courage and sacrifice to opt to stand on the right side of history. What will your legacy be in the end? How will the children remember you?
