The Big Lake Economic Development Corporation (BLEDC) was formed in 1990 as a Type B sales tax after passage of a half-cent sales tax , which funds the corporation. A seven member Board of Directors oversees and allocates the annual revenues. This funding provides the BLEDC the ability to offer economic incentives to businesses for enhancing or improving our community's atmosphere and the quality of life for the citizens of Big Lake.
