We invest equity capital in expansion stage companies and in management buy out opportunities. Candidates for investment should have good management teams in place, established sales in the $2 million to $25 million range, and serve large and growing markets. We will also consider buyouts of minority shareholder positions and other special situations in which the management team desires an equity oriented, experienced partner be involved with the company. Typical investments range from $500,000 to $5 million from Antares Capital's own funds. There are no industry restrictions, although Antares Capital does not invest in real estate, mineral exploration, distributors, franchisees, or project financings. Our General Partners and several of the Limited Partners at Antares Capital are highly experienced operating managers, having personally led many rapidly growing firms from start-up to important market positions, usually with venture capital backing. We are willing to be constructive partners with our portfolio company management teams in helping them create value for the founders, managers and owners of the business.
