Serta Restokraft Mattress Company was founded in 1913 in Detroit by Harry Kraft. With two partners, he began making mattresses in a woodshed with a used industrial sewing machine. One hundred years, three generations and 15 million mattresses later, the company is now in Romulus, Michigan. Serta Restokraft has 120 employees making 230,000 mattresses a year and is a licensee of Serta, which became the nation's leading mattress maker in 2011.
