What changes in such a short period of time? The answer is NOT their swing, it is their mental state. Swings don’t breakdown, it is the change in STATE that is inhibiting performance ability and natural skills. This doesn’t just happen at the golf course, it happens with public speaking, test taking, interviews, auditions, and more. All of these performance challenges point to the same issue - STRESS. Regardless of skill level, stress negatively effects every golfer and is the biggest inhibitor of peak performance on the course. When stressed, the brain releases cortisol which inhibits the functioning of the neocortex. This results in a change in perception, decision making, direction of focus, motor commands, tension level, tempo of swing, and more. Stress literally is shutting down the part of your brain you need to create a successful shot and have a positive and enjoyable experience. To play your best consistently it is essential that you have effective ways to identify and overcome stress on the course. We help our golfers achieve this goal through our unique assessment process that clearly and specifically identifies how you use your mind when you are at your best and what you do when you are stressed. Once your mental hard-wiring has been identified, we utilize the most effective mental fitness techniques to condition your TOTAL mind (conscious and subconscious) with the thoughts and behaviors that you do best so your zone state can become a habit of performance on the course.
