Outside the Lens provides innovative, transformative photography and digital media education to youth in K-12 schools throughout San Diego. Outside the Lens (OTL) amplifies youth voices through photography, filmmaking, and digital media, catalyzing change within themselves, their community, and the world. Through in-school, after-school, and summer programs, Outside the Lens engages youth, building 21st Century Skills and giving them the tools to express themselves creatively and have their voices heard and advocate for change. Outside the Lens also trains teachers around the world to implement our curriculum in their own classrooms. At Outside the Lens' Media Lab + Gallery at San Diego's historic Liberty Station, we connect with the community through our monthly photography exhibits by youth and professional photographers alike, as well as our evening and weekend photography workshops for learners of all ages.
