CONSULTATION SERVICES I provide consultation services on anything from production to post, grant writing, crowdfunding, general fundraising strategy, high level festival strategy, cinematography, and story and structure editing for projects at any stage. As a documentary filmmaker, and an insatiably curious person, I seek to bring communities of people together by telling poignant stories in an entertaining and visually compelling way. With a strong focus on ethical filmmaking, I strive to share stories that challenge our “understanding” of the world around us. With over 13 years of experience, I have worked for independent filmmakers as well as Lucasfilm, National Geographic Explorer, and PBS. My feature-length documentary FROM BAGHDAD TO THE BAY is screening in festivals now and has won the JURY AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY at Cinequest and BEST DOCUMENTARY, PROGRAMMER’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE at OUTshine Miami. I am the director of photography for 5 Blocks, a feature length documentary chronicling the revitalization efforts in the Central Market Street neighborhood in San Francisco. As producer and director of photography for the documentary shorts series Oakland Originals, I worked with the Grand Lake Theater to program the shorts before feature films. During the summer of 2014, over 24,000 moviegoers saw these shorts at the theater. My first film BDSM: It’s Not What You Think! premiered at the Frameline32 Film Festival in 2008 before going on to receive HONORABLE MENTION at Cinekink, New York and screen at festivals around the world.
