Peterborough and the Kawarthas Association of REALTORS® Inc. (PKAR) is a not-for-profit organization which facilitates the MLS® System for real estate professionals as well as provides the MLS® rules and organizes various fundraisers to benefit the community. Members of PKAR include 480+ licenced REALTORS® who are Sales Representatives, Brokers and Managers as well as affiliate Appraisers. PKAR has repesented organized Real Estate in Peterborough since 1945. PKAR is also a member of the Ontario Real Estate Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association, which enables us consultation with governments, at all levels on policies, programs and legislation that affect the industry and consumers. PKAR's purpose is to provide our members with the necessary tools to succeed; we believe that open communication with the city is essential to provide this mandate to our members. PKAR has a strong Government Relations committee that has been recognized at the provincial level by the Ontario Real Estate Association as a model for other local Associations to follow.
