The CIRRELT was founded in May 2006 with the merger of Centre for Research on Transportation (CRT), of the Université de Montréal (UdeM), École Polytechnique and HEC Montréal, the Network Organization Technology Research Centre (CENTOR) of Université Laval, and Polygistique of École Polytechnique, together with researchers associated with the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Logistics Management of Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
