Based in Seattle, KING-FM is a listener supported Clasical Music Station for the Northwest. Started by the Bullit family in 1948, KING FM has been classically formatted since its inception. KING FM takes great pride in its connection with the Northwest Art's community. We broadcast over 100 live local concerts per year and produce a weekly live in-studio concert, "Northwest Focus Live" from our Queen Anne Studios. As part of our community outreach KING FM sponsors a yearly competition for the Northwest's brightest new talent, KING FM's Young Artist Awards. We broadcast in the Seattle-Tacoma Metro market with a signal that reaches from Vancouver, BC Canada to Vancouver, Washington. In addition to our main signal at 98.1, we also broadcast in digital HD radio with 3 distinct HD channels. We also offer our programming worldwide at http://www.KING.org as well as through our smarthphone apps. Our locally produced children's series "Exploring Music" won a national Gracie Award this year (2013).
