Karro is a leading producer of both fresh and cooked pork products with c. 4,000 employees over 13 sites across the UK and Ireland. The business supplies to retail, foodservice and manufacturing customers across the UK, as well as export customers globally. We have full production chain visibility and our pork is eaten by millions of consumers every year. At Karro we breed our own pigs from our farms in across Scotland and the north of England, as well as sourcing animals from farmers local to our operations. We have strong farming links across the country going back many generations. This approach has helped us secure an award-winning reputation for optimal welfare standards and high-quality pork products, and ensures that we have unrivalled production chain traceability. We have recently developed specific ranges to meet customer demand, including Outdoor Bred, Outdoor Reared, Freedom Food, Free Range and Antibiotic Free and produce a variety of pork products including fresh pork, bacon and gammon, sous-vide, sausages and sliced cooked meats. Karro is part of the Eight Fifty Group which with the acquisitions of Youngs and Greenland Seafood is now one of the UK’s leading multi-protein food businesses, employing around 8,300 people across 23 manufacturing sites in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany and France.
