Global warming increases grid-sparked wildfires to account for 30% of California’s annual burn area, releasing CO2 equivalent to 65% of the state’s transportation-related emissions. Better identification of required maintenance, especially in remote areas, could prevent most of these devastating fires. Delphire’s powerline monitoring system solves this problem by enabling automated, frequent, and cheap inspection of lines. Plus, our system identifies fires that do break out and transmits alerts within seconds - minimizing damages, power disruptions, and CO2 impact.
