Inside Public Sector Leadership
www.publicsectorleadership.caInside Public Sector Leadership offers online, mentoring programs designed for active and aspiring public sector leaders, those new to government, or those wanting to better understand how to work with municipal, provincial, territorial and federal governments. The courses explore the unwritten protocols and grey areas that leaders in today’s public service need to navigate against a back drop of increasingly centralized decision making, a stronger political service, permanent campaigning, big data and a 24/7 news cycle. Using story telling and conversation, our faculty of mentor experts share perspectives and advice gained from their own lived experience as senior public service leaders, elected political officials, academics or media experts. The course will help to accelerate knowledge transfer as well as succession planning efforts, fine tune the skills of current leaders and reduce the cost of the ambient anxiety that comes from not knowing what you don’t know. By building greater expertise, confidence and courage, leaders can positively impact the work that best serves the social and economic needs of communitiesat the federal, provincial and municipal levels of governement.
