Wayfarers Ale Society Brewery was started in 2012 by three Craft Beer enthusiasts Chris Killacky, Detlef Heiss and Jamie Aitken. The Brewery supplies quality craft beer and cider beverages throughout Nova Scotia and can be found in the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission stores, Bars and Restaurants as well as for sale in the on site Retail Shop and Farmer's Markets. Food and Wayfarers' Ale Beers can be enjoyed in their purpose built Taproom and also on the Port Williams Wharf which is also part of the Brewery land. In 2018 Wayfarers Ale Society was awarded the Best Local Craft Beer award by the Grapevine as well as being accepted into the Nova Scotia Tourism Taste of Nova Scotia list of great places to eat and drink.
