Red Moon Resources

Red Moon Resources Inc. is a subsidiary of Vulcan Minerals Inc. (www.vulcanminerals.ca). The company was listed on the TSX Venture Exchange in August, 2012. Vulcan discovered a salt and potash mineralized horizon in the Bay St. George basin of western Newfoundland during the course of petroleum exploration. This discovery allowed Vulcan to explore opportunities outside of petroleum exploration, which lead to the spin-out of Red Moon and the creation of the Captain Cook salt/potash project. Though initial drill results were favourable for potash, follow-up drilling indicated that the area immediate to the discovery hole was more prospective for salt than potash. Drilling in 2013-2014 confirmed the extensive lateral and vertical continuity of evaporite mineralization. In the autumn of 2015, Red Moon commissioned a 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate to determine the scope of the salt resource on the Captain Cook salt project; ultimately this and subsequent evaluation will allow Red Moon to determine the economic feasibility of developing this property into a salt mine. In addition to the Captain Cook project, Red Moon owns claims further south that contain historical potash exploration holes, which Red Moon will use as a basis for future potash exploration in the Bay St. George basin.
