Founded by two entrepreneurial brothers, Zouk is a multi-award-winning restaurant that is refreshing Indian and Pakistani cooking for the health conscious diner with a menu and atmosphere infused with vitality, fun and passion. Inspired by their father’s successful restaurant business and frustrated by their corporate careers, brothers Mudassar and Tayub Amjad joined together with the vision to create Zouk to share their love of authentic recipes with a modern twist, served in a relaxed contemporary setting. Mudassar and Tayub conceived the idea of Zouk in early 2006 following a family holiday. Inspired by the variety of food and the stylish settings they had seen on their travels across Morocco and the Indian sub-continent, they started to create the idea of opening a new generation restaurant. Creative Director, Mudassar Amjad is passionate about food and is relentlessly committed to seeking out new flavours and techniques in his travels across the globe. His ideas and energy are translated into the Zouk menu, creating a melting pot of delicious meals inspired by his trips from Lebanon to Hong Kong and the Middle East. His brother Tayub Amjad is Zouk’s CEO and has used his knowledge and strategic thinking to turn their vision into a reality. Their cutting edge modern restaurant underlines the brand’s fun and vibrant identity. It is Tayub’s eye for detail and business acumen which leads the direction of the business with the dream that Zouk will one day have a restaurant in every major international city. Zouk opened the doors in Bradford in 2006 followed by a second branch, a 300 seat restaurant in Manchester, in February 2009 which takes pride of place in the city centre. Zouk was an instant hit with a winning combination of delicious food street from the markets of Lahore with traditional dishes from the Indian sub-continent.
