Bansuri Bliss LLC was founded by Dr. Kerry Kriger in 2017 as a means to share the majestic music of bansuri with the world. Bansuri is one of the world's oldest instruments, existing in more or less its current form for at least 4,000 years. Native to northern India, the bansuri is a transverse (side-blown) bamboo flute that produces an incredibly sweet, soothing sound. Dr. Kerry Kriger is one of the world's foremost authorities on Indian classical music and bansuri and has been studying, recording, performing and teaching the bansuri (bamboo flute) and the classical music of northern India since 1996. Dr. Kriger took private lessons for nearly a decade with Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao, one of India's greatest flute masters. His playing is defined by the mellow tone of his bamboo flute and his innovative improvisations, which are firmly rooted in the 4,000 year old classical Indian tradition. Dr. Kriger has performed on bansuri in the USA, India, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Ghana, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
