The strength of the West Australian economy relies heavily on our external trade. With key industries spread across vast distances, it’s vitally important that our supply chains are efficient and well-managed. At the Freight And Logistics Council of WA we work with key freight and logistics leaders in both the industry and Government. Our purpose is to facilitate communication between stakeholders, undertake research, discuss significant issues facing the sector and guide the development of good policy through constructive dialogue. The focus of the Council is: •To promote the common interests of those engaged in freight and logistics activities in or impacting upon Western Australia; •To offer strategic advice to the Minister for Transport on specific freight and logistics matters raised by industry or by Government; •To provide a forum for exchanging views between industry and Government on strategic matters impacting on the efficiency of freight and logistics activities; •To identify constraints and opportunities for the achievement of successful freight and logistics activities and to suggest appropriate strategic responses to these; •To promote the importance of successful freight and logistics activities to Government, industry and the community; and •To represent a Western Australian view of freight and logistics policy matters in national decision-making forums.
