Elizabeth's Village is a nine-year-old non-profit organization that works with the growing homeless population in Scott County, Kentucky. Elizabeth's Transitional Home for women and children, is the main program within Elizabeth's Village. Our home provides long term transitional housing for single women and women with children who have found themselves homeless for various different reasons. While in our home, the women are encouraged to make progress towards becoming self-sufficient through a holistic approach. Instead of viewing homelessness as a black and white subject with a single contributing factor, we see that there are always many underlying causes to a person becoming homeless. In response to this belief, we offer a variety of resources that aid the women in their growth as a whole person. Some examples of the resources we offer include a case manager, financial literacy, grief recovery, cooking classes, support groups, mentors, and one on one tutoring.
