The largest Russian producer of special-purpose passenger coaches and rolling stock. The plant can produce all kinds of passenger coaches for the speeds between 160 and 200 km/h, as well as vault-cars, luggage cars, prisoner transportation cars, etc. The enterprise also manufactures various derivatives of rolling stock bogies. Tver Carriage Works Tver Established in 1898. Tver Carriage Works (TVZ) is the principal developer and producer of locomotive-hauled main line passenger cars in Russia: compartment passenger cars with couchettes or seats, coaches and open-plan cars, various types of freight cars, and special-purpose rail cars. In 2007, the Tver Carriage Works manufactured and sold: 922 various passenger rail cars, 7,344 freight wheel sets. The following new types of products were developed: rail cars, models 61-4170, 61-4188, and 61-4189 for the high-speed Nevsky Express train; bogies of bolsterless type, models 61-4095 and 61-4096, for speeds of up to 160 km/hr. The enterprise employs approximately 9,600 people.
