We’ve produced this recipe book because wewant to teach students new skills with recipes that they will love cooking and enjoy eating. Using recipes developed over the course of a 30 year career as a food teacher in a variety of schools, we’ve now created a high quality teaching resource that students will love to use in lessons. The recipes in this book have been developed in line with the national curriculum recommendations for teaching food, cooking and nutrition at key stage 3. They are thoroughly tried and tested, and have been specifically designed to be quick, simple and adaptable - making your job as a food teacher just a little easier. The recipes are also designed to encourage healthy eating and are predominantly savoury, but we have put in a few of our favourite cakes and dessert recipes as well. These require different skills, are great fun to make and, most importantly, delicious to eat. They are also brilliant to use in school activity days and bake off competitions.
