The Canadian Institute for the Relief of Pain and Disability has changed its name to the Work Wellness and Disability Prevention Institute (WWDPI). The new name recognizes the growing evidence that “good work environments” have a direct impact on employee health and make important benefits to society at large. There is strong evidence that worklessness and job loss arising from chronic and episodic health-related challenges results in poorer health outcomes (including increases the risk of premature death).
