The world is changing. Disease and infection is widespread. We have seen the threat that drug-resistant disease and infection imposes on the world. These superbugs are evolving at a rapid rate, as is the misconception that a ‘silver bullet’ drug is all that is needed to solve these issues. These drugs are no longer effective in the long term, and a more holistic approach needs to be taken. The Centre to Impact AMR is forging world-leading, sustainable solutions to combat these superbugs. Using a holistic approach, we are setting the global agenda in understanding not just drug discoveries, but how we can consider the settings - homes, hospitals, urban water flows and agricultural areas - to create safe and healthy environments. Using methods never before explored, we’re minimising the threats, impacting policy and creating the workforce and interdisciplinary leaders of the future.
