The Maple Leaf Trust celebrates the historic links between Canada and the United Kingdom. The Maple Leaf Trust focuses its efforts on two areas: War Veterans and Graduate scholarships. Each in its way helps to develop and sustain Canada’s standing in a rapidly changing world. The Veteran’s Support Committee (VSC) was created after WW2 and extended the care of the Canadian community to Canadian veterans living in the UK on a permanent basis right to this day. Although their numbers are fewer, their needs are far greater with increasing age-related health issues. Celebrating a century of nationhood in 1967, the Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund (CCSF) was established to award scholarships to exceptional Canadians pursuing graduate studies in the UK. In this way the Maple Leaf Trust aims to enable Canadian scholars to compete in their chosen fields on the world stage.
