In Germany, there is a considerable lack of digital skills and IT knowledge among pupils. According to a study by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2021, only 40% of eighth grade students have reached the minimum standards in digital literacy. The BYTE Challenge is a digital learning platform for students in grades 3 to 13 of all school types. In 20-minute courses, for example, the basics of computer science and digital skills are taught. The interactive, video-based courses are available in German, Ukrainian and English and can be easily integrated into the teaching process to help students improve their knowledge and skills in areas such as algorithms, artificial intelligence, digital communication and programming. More than 1000 students are already taking part in the BYTE Challenge and benefiting from better preparation for the digital world. By participating in the BYTE Challenge, students expand their knowledge and improve their skills in the digital world to take advantage of the opportunities digital transformation offers.
