LAVA interiors is an interior design studio with offices in New York City and upstate New York. Projects include both residential and commercial work, globally. Every project is tailored to each client and founded on a belief of creating environments that are both evocative and uniquely reflective of each individual, surpassing momentary trends. Founder Meg Lavalette employs a hands-on approach that meticulously oversees all facets of a project including the overall aesthetic direction, product sourcing, project schedule adherence, management of contractors and vendors, budgetary administration, and consistent communication throughout the project. Playing with sophisticated materiality and sculptured furnishings, Meg builds upon her keen eye for architectural details. She began her career at Robert A.M. Stern Architects where she worked closely with the Partners of the design studio who produced 15 Central Park West on a varied mix of both domestic and international projects. Expanding her portfolio, she worked on many high-end private residential and high-profile commercial projects with Jeffrey Bilhuber, Kara Mann, Fawn Galli, and Joanna Jones - including penthouses, townhouses, and lofts in New York City, as well as large estates in Connecticut and the Hamptons - before opening her own firm. Meg began her collegiate studies in classical voice performance at The Florida State University and furthered her education at Parsons The New School of Design in Interior Architecture and Design. She was born and raised in Greenwich, CT and shares her time between her New York City pied-à-terre and 19th century farmhouse upstate.
