In 2007, Kubu Group was established in South Africa, specialising in the production of macadamia nuts and macadamia nursery trees. Under professional management, Kubu Group produces market-leading volumes of macadamia crop per ha, and at more than double the industry average. Kubu Group also operates a macadamia tree nursery, producing trees for its own orchard expansion requirements and for commercial sale. Consistently high quality of production output is ensured by adhering to, and aiming to exceed, the latest best practice and industry-body standards in all aspects of each production process. Kubu Group is vertically integrated with direct shared ownership of Golden Macadamias. Golden Macadamias is a market leader in macadamia crop processing, sales and distribution internationally. It sells around 8% of global macadamia production. By 2030, Kubu Group aims to be the largest producer of macadamia nuts in the world, and to have strengthened further through the establishment of new ventures which deliver forward integration.
