In the secondary market, legitimacy was the first step towards establishing an industry-wide standard of conduct. With this in mind, a small group of pioneers came together in 1994 and formed the National Association of Ticket Brokers in order to represent the interests of legitimate ticket sellers worldwide, all while promoting consumer protection and industry education. Through self-governance, the NATB has provided enhanced protections for ticket-buying consumers, and created a platform that allows the public to report unethical conduct by ticket brokers. NATB has worked with law enforcement agencies, state and federal legislators, and professional sports leagues & teams. Indeed, NATB has been vital in the NFL's fight against counterfeit and stolen tickets.
