Our Story The story of Embrace a Village is God’s. The Lord brought together three couples initially: A husband-wife duo with proven success in business, a young ministry couple born and raised in India, and a Midwestern couple with an expertise in agriculture. Because of the Lord, this group became supernaturally unified with a passion and heart to serve those impacted by leprosy in India through the resources God had provided each. Together, they founded Embrace a Village (EAV) in 2003 with the purpose of providing medical care to those who had contracted the disease and sharing with them Christ’s message of hope and healing. EAV became a 501(c)(3) organization in 2004 and has been able to commit 100% of donations to programs for those affected by leprosy. Now, people all over the world are joining together through a movement of the Holy Spirit to see leprosy eradicated and souls saved. Community While founders Joe and Pat Clendenny coordinate Embrace a Village operations from the United Sates, 50 dedicated workers, all from India, provide loving care and spiritual guidance to those affected by leprosy daily. Core Values Based on Jesus’ uplifting words from Matthew 25, we live by five key Core Values, as represented through the beautiful FACES of those forgotten lives we seek to help transform. • Faithfulness • Accountability • Compassion • Ethics • Stewardship Mission Statement The mission of Embrace a Village is to serve people affected by leprosy holistically through spiritual, medical, nutritional, and educational programs. Vision Statement The vision of Embrace a Village is to see spiritual, physical, and social transformations in the lives of people with leprosy and their families.
