Double Tide Digital is a new UK startup, founded by experienced developer and technical director, Steve Longhurst. Double Tide's mission is to provide game developers with easy to use, reliable and scalable backend game logic and functionality. Not just a generic 'Backend as a Service' however, but rather a specific set of cloud based gameplay solutions. Enabling developers (particularly Indie Game Devs) to execute their game logic when their players are not actively playing on gaming devices. This opens up a whole new genre of gameplay ideas, the game world a player is engaged in can keep on updating even after they have finished playing. Potentially messaging them when the game world changes, enticing the players back to discover new events and occurrences.
