The Submarine Cable Database was initially developed in 2013 and modified with real-time data thereafter, and tracks some 450+ current and planned domestic and international cable systems, including project information suitable for querying by client, year, project, region, system length, capacity, landing points, data centers, owners, installers, etc. The Submarine Cable Database is purpose-built by a dedicated database administration team, powered by SQL and retained on a Microsoft Azure platform. Maps are produced with ArcGIS Pro, in the same format and visual style as Submarine Cables of the World print map.
