Sumosan, a contemporary Japanese concept, was first launched in Moscow, Russia in 1997 by Alexander Wolkow in the Radisson Slavjanskya Hotel. After developing Sumosan in Moscow, Janina Wolkow, daughter of Alexander Wolkow, launched Sumosan London in 2002. The Wolkow restaurants are internationally renowned for serving some of the best Japanese food outside of Japan.
