Texas Target Communities
ttc.arc.tamu.eduFor over 30 years, the Texas Target Communities program from the College of Architecture has provided technical assistance on land use planning and design to small, low-resourced communities across the state. Today those communities face complex challenges that require access to more specialized information from a variety of disciplines. Unfortunately, few small communities are able to employ a cadre of experts able to conduct the kind of tailored analyses a community needs in order to make sound choices regarding the future. Therefore, TTC has expanded by diversifying the scope of technical support it offers; moving from short-term independent projects focused on land use planning and design, to more long-term, integrated efforts addressing the full spectrum of challenges (e.g. civic, environmental, economic, etc.) a typical community encounters.
