Fred Herdman began Commonwealth Oil in 1978 because he wanted to be a part of a company that created high quality products that were safer and cleaner than ever before, that valued distributors and customers above all, and offered the best customer service in the industry. He succeeded! Commonwealth Oil became renoun as the first company in the world to not only identify the dangers EDM operators were exposed to by older EDM technology, but to also create a line of EDM Fluids that are the safest, cleanest, longest lasting Fluids in the industry, not to mention NSF/CFIA Registered and 'Readily Biodegradable'. Since then, Commonwealth Oil has expanded their expertise to include a complete line of Metalworking Fluids, Lubricants, Hydraulic & Gear Oils and Concrete Form Release Agents. We have also used our determination and technology to create two additional lines of products, Exact Specialty and BioComm. Exact Specialty is a complete line of NSF/CFIA Registered Lubricants for the Food Processing Industry and BioComm is a line of 'Readily Biodegradable' Fluids. Our motto has become 'Leaving our mark on the industry, not the environment' and we plan to continue to do so for many years to come!
