In 1928, John Lloyd Freeman foresees the major benefits in the branding and marketing of products, establishes a distribution network to represent well-known brands, and founds J.L. Freeman Inc., with a head office at the Place Royale in Old Montreal. The company associates itself with many famous brands such as Uncle Ben's, Kellogg's, Carnation, Papiers Scott, and S.O.S. In 1962, Mr. Lloyd Freeman sells his company to ten of his employees, including Mr. Roland St-Charles who became the president of the company in 1981. In 1990, his daughter Carole St-Charles took over as president and engaged in a period of record-level growth. Today, J.L. Freeman S.E.C. has four divisions and consists of dedicated employees, which in some way are part of every family's daily life. Whether it's a child's favorite cough syrup to sooth a sore throat or a cream to sooth dry winter skin, J.L. Freeman S.E.C. has been taking great care of its customers for many generations.
