Venture Cup is the competition for the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Our purpose is to connect people with ideas with experts and the crowd, to ignite the creation of new businesses and empower the growth of Sweden. We are a non profit organization, and open for everyone who wants to test their business ideas. Thanks to our financial partners, we each year donate 1,3 million SEK to creative ideas with long-term sustainable growth and verified demand from customers. Venture Cup was founded in 1998 at the initiative of McKinsey & Company in collaboration with Chalmers University, Gothenburg University and Innovationsbron. Venture Cup is supported by all the great universities in Sweden, and is run in partnership with the private and public sectors. We are still very tightly connected with the universities, and a lot of the contestants are students and scientists. Our vision Venture Cup strives to be the natural choice for everyone with new business ideas in Sweden, the most important supplier for, and platform to, the Swedish innovation system – as well as an important factor in the creation of new companies with sustainable growth in Sweden.
