Global CO2 Initiative
www.globalco2initiative.orgThe Global CO2 Initiative at University of Michigan aims to drive the development of technologies that can capture and convert carbon dioxide into a commodity, with a goal of reducing the equivalent of 10 percent of current atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions annually by 2030. The Global CO2 Initiative combines the assets of the San Francisco non-profit CO2 Sciences with what was previously the Beyond Carbon Neutral initiative at the U-M Energy Institute. By bringing together researchers, policymakers, industry partners, and world-class faculty and facilities, the Global CO2 Initiative at the University of Michigan will discover and disseminate breakthrough innovations and solve complex sustainability challenges at a local and global level. Our team supports researchers through technology assessment, development and commercialization of CO2-based products to have the capability of being “carbon negative, dollar positive.” Our teams will deploy the first international, industry-standard Life Cycle Analysis and Techno-Economic Analysis Toolkit (LCA/TEA), which will establish a common model for assessing the climate and economic impact of different technologies in the carbon conversion industry and CO2 based products. #CCU #carboncapture #carboncaptureandutilization #sustainability #greentechnology #greentech #CDR #carbondioxideremoval #carbonreduction #carbonemissions #co2reduction #co2emissions #co2capture
