The Romanian Professional Association of Urban Planners (APUR) is a professional, non-governmental, apolitical and non-profit organization. The association is formed by specialists working in the interdisciplinary domain of urban and territorial planning. APUR has the following objectives: - Promoting the status of the specialist in the domain of urban and territorial planning - Defining the role and importance of urban and territorial planning in the society’s existence and evolution, promoting interdisciplinarity as a principle of theory and practice in the domain. - Achieving a balance between public and private interests in urban and territorial planning, within a sustainable development context. - Raising the professional competence of its members and of all specialists in the domain of urban and territorial planning; support and involvement in the process of training professionals. - Defending or exercising copyrights in research and design activities in urban and territorial planning. - Assuming an active role in society. International representation of specialists in urban and territorial planning.
