Established in 1963 as Farm Equipment Pty Ltd by Gordon Vandersee, the business became Vanderfield in 1970 and has now grown to 22 branches positioned in key agricultural regions throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales. Vanderfield has machinery partnerships with leading brands, such as our longstanding partnership with John Deere, as well as others including Muddy River, Kuhn and Manitou. In 2012, Vanderfield partnered with RDO Equipment Co. – one of the largest John Deere and Vermeer dealer groups globally – a business built on similar values, and the same focus of commitment and partnership with customers, employees, manufacturers and communities. In 2019, RDO Equipment Co. acquired the remaining interest in Vanderfield, as well as Vermeer Australia, which led to the formation of RDO Australia Group. In October 2020, RDO Australia Group acquired Chesterfield Australia, adding 11 branch locations and more than 200 employees to the Vanderfield network. Today, RDO Australia Group is one of the world’s largest John Deere and Vermeer equipment dealers. The Group proudly employs more than 700 staff and operates out of 29 dealerships providing expert parts and service support for the agricultural, roads, civil construction, landscaping, mining and forestry sectors.
