Waterra Pumps Limited ("Waterra") is a private Canadian owned and operated company that designs, manufactures and sells pumps and accessories for sampling groundwater. Waterra was incorporated in 1985 to exploit a very simple pumping system (the "inertial" or "waterra" pump) to sample groundwater. This innovative product line resulted in dramatically reduced sampling costs for the industry and consequently became widely used; first in Canada and then internationally. The product line was expanded to include hand, electrical and gas-powered drive systems in several tubing size configurations. The product line was diversified into in-line filters as requested by its customer base. Waterra has developed a series of high quality in-line filters which it began manufacturing inhouse in 2016. The product line was further enhanced with the development of a proprietary water level detector and an oil-water interface probe. Other third-party pumps and instruments are represented, providing a one-stop shop for its customer base.
