HISTORY We are all too aware of the unimaginable tragedies that members of our immediate Shore area have had to face in recent years: the senseless loss of life from suicide, the cascading hardships to schools, families and businesses due to substance abuse; the personal trauma and challenging adjustments necessary in the shaky economic environment and post 9/11 culture. Over recent years a growing number of people retiring in the Shore area are in need of support. There are many people trying to cope with the stresses of life at a time hospitals and other community agencies have limited services. Many people do not know where to turn for help.
