Over the years, a significant amount of time, effort and resources have been expended to develop more efficient oilfield reciprocating rod string pumping systems to extract fluid from oil reservoirs powered by multi-cylinder, single cylinder or 2-stroke natural gas engines. While many have been successful, the need for improved systems and equipment capable of overcoming ever-present challenges in the field remains. POC’s automated hydraulic pump off control technology has been proven to optimize oil production, reduce costly workovers, lower Lease Operating Expenses (LOEs) and minimize capital costs for the customer through efficient rod string management. Our innovated control systems are powered by natural gas engines solving a multitude of problems for oil producers operating in locations where electricity is not readily available. The POC Variable Speed Drive Controller allows infinite control of the rod string on both the upstroke as well as the downstroke independently, thus allowing for slower deceleration and faster acceleration resulting in a more efficient and controlled rod reversal effect. This technology provides solutions to a number of issues relative to pumpjack systems due to hydrostatic forces being imposed on a rod string during the down stroke owing to the buoyant resistance encountered in overcoming fluid pressure as the rod string decelerates through the formation fluids. Accordingly, POC’s safe and user-friendly field operating procedures support a robust, heavy-duty hydraulic system with the goal of producing less wear and tear on pumping equipment thereby yielding a reduction in downhole failures and years of trouble-free operation.
