The New RC Soaring Digest

new.rcsoaringdigest.com

RC Soaring Digest (RCSD) is a reader-written monthly publication for the radio controlled sailplane enthusiast and was published continuously from January of 1984 through December of 2018. From 2004 through to their retirement in 2018, RCSD was edited and published by Bill and Bunny Kuhlman. After a hiatus in 2019 and 2020, RCSD was revived as a 'digital first' online publication led by Managing Editor Terence C. Gannon with Bill and Bunny remaining as Editors Emeritus. We're proud to say the fundamental nature of RCSD has not changed since its inception, which was aptly described by the very first Editor and Publisher, Jim Gray, in Volume 1 Number 1 in January of 1984: "RC Soaring Digest will make every effort to bring you the latest, best and most up-to-date information about this hobby/sport of ours. It will, like any good newspaper, cover the who, the what, the where, the how, and the why of R/C soaring and sailplanes. We'll talk about airfoils, about new designs, about F3B, about 2-meter sailplanes; and we'll try to bring you soaring personalities and 'guest spots.' There will be some contest reports, and a contest calendar, if possible, covering at least the major events. We will have a beginner's corner with simple ideas building hints, and help for the newcomer to R/C soaring. You will find a lot of information from abroad...with the reasons behind why they do what they do, and how it's different from our approach. I'll make a real effort to bring theory and practice closer together, and I'll need your help to even come close to these goals." The current monthly issue can always be found the website below, and back issues are linked off of this same page.
