The overall purpose of sponsorship in Plan is to build a global community aware of, involved in and united around the needs of children. Plan’s Sponsorship Program is unique for several reasons. It is a means of building one to one match between a child and an individual/group sponsor, it is an opportunity to build relationships through communication exchanges, it provides development information to raise people’s awareness and personal commitment to help make long-term, positive changes for children, it provides the opportunity to take action for positive change, ensures Plan’s work is connected to individual children and families, and enables accountability to every party involved.
